We are dedicated Speech and Language Therapists who want to seize the power of communication technology to help more children. Our roots as a private practice have blossomed to include online services, but our specialized approach is still the same.
We immerse ourselves into the network of our patient’s lives to help them with speech, language, and cognition in every way we can. That means coordinating with parents and educators to form the ideal approach for every child and helping them reach specific milestones together.
Our efforts are led by by Owner and CEO Devorah Himy, who has been actively practicing and training in speech and language therapy for the last 16 years. She has worked with schools and individual clients all around New Jersey, and conducts local seminars as well as national workshops and webinars.
A letter from our CEO, Devorah Himy:
When I reflect on all of my past endeavors and future goals, everything boils down to one fact – I simply love helping children. As a mother, nothing is more fascinating to me than tuning in to all of the sparks happening inside a growing mind. The clinical, analytical side of me has always been motivated by this curious and caring part of my personality.
Over the past 15 years as a Speech & Language Pathologist, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside children, parents and educators to turn their challenges into opportunities for growth and triumph. What they often see as issues and obstacles, I see as unique personal challenges that we can overcome together.
But experiencing how much hard work and dedication it takes to achieve real results didn’t scare me – it inspired me to start my own business. In 2008, I opened Language Builders, a private practice based in Lakewood, NJ. As I’ve worked alongside our 14 therapists over the past 8 years, I’ve learned more and more about the needs of children, families and school systems. Everyday, I see how parents and educators struggle to understand and help the kids in their lives, even when they have resources at their disposal. This inspired us to open BrainWaze. Now, we can help children without the limits of physical boundaries, tricky family schedules and poor school funding. By bringing our speech and language services online, we hope to bring clarity, relief, and hope to families who previously felt they were running out of treatment options.
We know what works best for children, and we know what works best for the networks of adults around them trying to help. By working transparently and passionately with those who love them, we can give children the skills, tools and motivation to reach their full potential.
Whether you are a mother, father or teacher, I look forward to hearing from you and coordinating with you to help the child in your life reach their full potential.
